Mr Elise
Advocate for tools that distribute death to children and the businesses that love them.
Just to look at him Matthew Manda is plausibly human. In a photo he’s handsome in an average Kansan sort of way, untucked blue gingham button-up shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap, and available background material indicates he is, in fact, from Kansas. He lived in Lawrence where he went to college then worked for a couple of Kansas politicians. It’s a believable cover story.
I’ve been to Lawrence, KS. It’s a nice town nestled on the the open plains with big clear starry skies maybe 100 miles from Burdett where Clyde Tombaugh, discoverer of Planet X, Pluto, was from. But in many ways Manda is a cipher.
You can find some basic information on him but he’s best known for being Mr Elise Stefanik. They were married outside of her NY21 district while she was a serving Congresswoman. Their wedding announcement was posted in the liberal mouthpiece the New York Times. They never bothered to run a wedding announcement in any of the local daily newspapers in her district. That always seemed weird to me, like she’s embarrassed by us. It’s insulting to us but her supporters thrive on insults. Mostly in throwing them, but also in being called deplorable.
In late August 2022 candidates for congressional representative from NY21, Matt Castelli and Elise Stefanik, met by chance at the Washington County Fair. A lot of people meet by chance at the fair. From a photo snapped of the encounter it appeared to be a friendly meeting. It’s a fair. People are there for fun.
Castelli posted the pic to Twitter with a comment: “The great Washington County Fair welcomes folks from all over, including this nice family from outside #NY21.”
It was a joke, a light hearted ribbing of his opponent but her husband Matthew Manda went full momma bear mode. He demanded Castelli take down the picture, which included his 1 year old son, and to never post another photo of little Sammy again. Manda clearly realized Earth creatures are very sensitive about the safety of their progeny. Castelli took down the post.
In her rare public appearances in the district Stefanik has always displayed great concern for her personal safety, requesting heavy police protection. I asked her about it at a “town hall” event and she dodged the question. I asked a person who seemed to be head of her security detail about it and her wormtongue aide Alex DeGrasse took and saved a picture of me. The guy lied, at first saying Capitol police called for the heavy presence, but under further questioning he admitted it was Stefanik’s call. She enters her district like a Roman prefect with a display of power to discourage ANTIFA or gray haired libs from attacking.
Oddly enough Stefanik herself had been issuing public photos of her son and made appearances in public holding little Sammy and regularly talking about how being a new mom gave her special insight into hormonal responses experienced by human mothers.
Matthew Manda, it turns out is a marketing and communications guy for the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), a gun manufacturer trade group of sorts. They were based for decades in Newtown, CT, where Sandy Hook Elementary school is located, where little children and their teachers were gunned down by a young person with an assault rifle. The NSSF, despite having opposed numerous safety measures, issued a statement about the shooting including this: "Who among us has not been moved by that unspeakable tragedy that was inflicted by a deranged man upon the children of Newtown, Conn., our very home as the NSSF?"
Maybe Manda himself is untroubled his work shilling for purveyors of death to small children. Firearms are the #1 cause of death to children.
How do I square Manda’s robotic concern for the safety of his own child with his work for an organization that opposes nearly every piece of legislation attempting to make gun ownership safer? How does a mother seemingly very concerned about the health and safety of children justify her relationship with purveyors of death to children?
